Sabbath is more than an ancient custom for other people. Sabbath is a way of being that reminds us we are more than cogs in a machine. Humans need rest to remember who we are. Rest can be a radical act of resistance to reclaim our full humanity. Rev. Pam Rumancik will lead worship.
Share the Plate: We will share half the offering with the Austin Scholars Program of Third Unitarian Church of Chicago, which is located in the heart of Austin, one of the poorest neighborhoods in Chicago. Third Unitarian is to be commended for starting this program 51 years ago to encourage students who lived in Austin to attend 2 or 4-year college programs. It is impossible to overstate this church’s commitment to Austin. Members of the Austin Scholars Award Program of “Third U” including the 98 year old co-founder, Roberta Wilson, will present their request from the pulpit, and after service, will be available to visit with our congregation.
