Time & Talent Auction Results and Thank Yous

Things are definitely LOOKING UP! after a magnificent showing this past Saturday at the Time & Talent Auction “LOOK UP!  Bloom Where You are Planted.” Gross receipts in support of Chalice House, our three Service Partners, and CCUU are currently over a record-breaking $40,000!

In case you missed all of the festivities or are still feeling generous, you can still make bids on Service Partner initiatives, unsold items, parties, and services after the service this Sunday. You can also pick up items that you won and pay invoices.  Stop by in Atherton Hall to see all of the great donations that are still available!

Our congregation burst forth to support this endeavor in so many ways. The following includes an expansive list of all the incredible volunteers:

  • For the first time ever, we welcomed our highly entertaining auctioneers Matt and Margaret Myren, who kept the paddles raising and the enthusiasm strong throughout the Live Auction.
  • Many thanks to the Countryside Band members who performed a rousing set of songs at the end of the evening. Tom Dempsey arranged the music, and Jeff Phillips donated his considerable time and expensive equipment for the setup. The talented band members include Mark Braun, Ray Holpuch, Collin Smith, Chaz Ruhl, Ed Monson, and Sarah Tilford- Rodriguez. Adam Lunter had rehearsed with the band but was unable to attend.
  • We can always find Ed Monson in the kitchen, organizing the volunteers, preparing the food, and doing any mundane task to present a beautiful buffet dinner and a relaxing evening for all.
  • Judy Ball, John Evans, and Mike Calwas can always be counted on to organize the bar and bartenders.
  • Bill Scown heads up the incredible work of the Justice Matters Committee; Mike Berry is liaison to POC; and Lillian Schnitzler is liaison to Chalice House and ICDI.
  • Revs Pam and Karen gave our dinner invocation, and lend their support to sending ¾ of this money outside our church walls!
  • And Laurie Lantz provides invaluable office assistance which we sorely missed when she was taking her well-deserved vacation!

But we are just getting started. Donating over 100 parties and workshops, personal services, excursions, and handmade items were:  Maggie Coons, Susan Auld, Alisa Ake, Barrie Burr, Tom Dempsey, Nancy Dempsey, Ellen Vinzani, Judy Ball, Laura Mandell, Ken Mandell, Vince Unger, Mike Berry, Linda Berry, Karen Epps, Karen Greenland, Jeannie Scown, Matthew Barnard, Peggy Simonsen, Patti Janda, Matt Myren, Margaret Myren, Natalie, Krastev, George Motto, Kathy Motto, Avery Pierce, Sue Montgomery, Bob Anders, Elizabeth Van Orden, the Young Adults Group, Paula Matzek, Rev Pam Rumancik, Cara Duffy, Kim Frank, Mari Van Meter, Ryan Schaefges, Karolina Kozakiewicz, The Spleens ( Jeff Phillips, Chaz Ruhl, and Gregg Szczesny), Timothy of Chalice House, Leslie Peet, Ed Monson, Tyler (Tiggy) Davis, Cindy Thornton, Lillian Schnitzler, and  “POC Sews”.
