Social Justice Training Opportunity
We don’t have kings in America, and we won’t let a handful of billionaires run our country into the ground. We have an opportunity for everyone interested in learning how to organize resistance to advancing autocracy and mobilizing in this moment.
We have an opportunity for CCUU to take action and build pro-democracy power in this moment of crisis: The Rise for Democracy Training Series. CCUU Social Justice will host “Rise for Democracy Training”, a series of 7 live online trainings designed by Mobilize for in-person groups starting on Thursday March 27 at 7 PM in the Stokes Room. The goal of the training series is to bring people together, to grow & strengthen our local network, and get ready to mobilize to demand democracy in this new challenging environment. Training content will be presented to our group on zoom live in the Stokes Room where we will have breakout discussions.
The Rise for Democracy Training is for everyone who loves our country, who understands the threat of autocracy before us, and who wants to do something about it. If you’re moderate politically, a pro-democracy conservative, or progressive – this is your place! You are welcome and important here. This training is for you. You can attend all or single training sessions as you are interested and able.
Rise for Freedom Training Timeline – Thursdays, 7-9 PM CT, in the Stokes Conference Room
- March 27 – 1st Training: How did we get here? Intro to organizing under creeping autocracy
- April 3rd – 2nd Training: Building to a critical mass locally (outreach)
- April 10 – 3rd Training: How to talk to people you might disagree with
- April 17 – 4th Training: Making political violence backfire
- April 24 – 5th Training: Mutual Aid & Structures for Stronger Local Organizing
- May 1 – 6th Training: Advanced Strategic organizing skills
- May 8 – 7th Training: Advanced Strategic Organizing Skills II
