The ‘Building Countryside’ Campaign was officially launched in October 2009. This effort has been several years in the making as dedicated members worked to identify our physical building needs, both inside and outside. Significant leakage issues and the aging of our original HVAC units required careful assessment and coordination in planning for the improvements needed to put our spiritual home back in its best condition. The repair process has begun, but this special Building Drive was needed to raise the money necessary to complete all the work. However, the mission of the church is not to just repair its own house – it is also to reach out and help others. That’s why this drive will dedicate 5% of monies raised to Community Outreach. We will work to raise Our Values along with our R-Values! Finally, our goal for the campaign also includes money to help pay down or retire our mortgage. Currently we pay nearly $40,000 in interest to the bank. By extinguishing that debt, we could apply that money to accomplish so much more – for ourselves and for others. The Goal
Our financial goal for the ‘Building Countryside’ campaign is $750,000. This is roughly broken down into four categories:
BUT - BUILDING COUNTRYSIDE is about far more than just the bricks and siding. Part of this effort is to address the maintenance needs that we have, but the larger part is to put our spiritual house in order so that we can better concentrate on our larger mission in the world. Improved facilities will help us welcome more spiritual seekers and let us deliver more clearly our messages of hope, peace, tolerance and cooperation to an ever-broadening audience. We need and appreciate your support. The suggested pledge for this drive is three times your operating budget pledge – payable over the next three years – but we welcome whatever pledge you can make. You can download a Pledge Form here – or email the office at ccuu@ccuu.org. More questions? Please contact Campaign Co-Chairs Paul Sneddon or Greg Blus.
